平体文枝の作品集。2003年〜2005年に制作した油彩作品を収録。全てカラー図版です。署名入。

表現の方法として絵画を選んだのは、自分と向き合う作業に惹かれるところがあるからです。たとえば、「人」の思考の仕組みを探ることは大変興味深く、自分のことよりは他人のことの方がより客観的に見ることができますが、その視線を同じレベルで自分に向けることができればどんなふうに自分が「不自由」なのかがわかります。いつからか自分に覆い被さっている無駄なものに気づくこと。それが意識できるかどうかはとても重要なのです。

制作では意識的ではない力がふと作用し、描き進むうちにある色や形が必然的とでもいうように現れることがあります。それは結果として作る側と見る側との「共通の言語」となって、何かを語りはじめるようです。そうした意識することと無意識的な作用のバランスで私の作品は作られていると感じます。わたしは「人」の姿、形こそ描きませんが、わたしという人間そのもののあり様が常に感じられる作品を作りたいと考えています。（本人テキストより）
